Gerry Gunter

Follow the military and personal life of Gerry Gunter, a World War II veteran who enlisted alongside his brothers in the “C” Squadron Fort Garry Horse. As a proud member of Selkirk’s historic Dufferin Gang, he was awarded the Canadian Efficiency Medal in 1944 and later returned home to raise his family and dedicate his life to the local community.

Red Feather Farm

From a premier 1910s poultry ranch to a wartime military barracks, Red Feather Farm holds a fascinating place in Selkirk’s history. This exhibit uncovers how its massive chicken barns were transformed into quarters for the 108th Battalion—affectionately nicknamed “The Roosters”—before they deployed to the front lines of the First World War.
